Who is Congressional Candidate Jerry Torres?

Jerry Torres is a South Florida millionaire and candidate running for U.S. Congress in Florida’s 14th Congressional District.

Did Jerry Torres violate the law? Judge for yourself.

According to a lawsuit filed in Leon County, Jerry Torres allegedly violated Florida law when he or his campaign submitted three candidate oath forms bearing an identical signature, stamped by three different notaries in Mississippi.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, “state records show he filed three different versions of the candidate oath, one on June 15, two days before the end of the qualifying period, and two on the morning of June 17, just before the noon qualifying deadline.

According to the lawsuit, the first oath was rejected, apparently because the notarization form says Torres appeared online to swear it, but it bears a written signature, not an online signature.

The second oath, dated June 16 and hand-delivered at 8:24 a.m. June 17, also was rejected, apparently because much of the notarization section of the form is illegible, the lawsuit says.”

The problem is that Jerry Torres claims to have been in Africa during this time. According to Jerry Torres’s own social media posts and a video posted online dated June 16, 2022, Jerry Torres appears to be in Sierra, Leone (West Africa) and has not disputed those claims.

According to the state of Mississippi, it is against the law for a notary public to notarize something outside of the state of Mississippi.

If this is the case, Florida law may also have been violated if the Torres campaign submitted a fraudulent document.

If the claims are true, and Torres and his campaign are willing to start his campaign off with this much dishonesty and fraud, do you really want him representing you in Congress?
